Epoxy Flooring Systems Create a Positive Foundation for Your Business.

Your business image starts with the first impression it presents. People unconsciously judge how they feel walking into a space, whether it’s a commercial office, warehouse, or retail space. Stylish and cost-effective Epoxy Flooring ensures perceptions are in your favour.

The last three words you want people to use in one sentence while in your space are not, so, and great. No matter where it is, the condition of a dirty, damaged, or old floor translates into negative judgment. However, there is an easy way to make your old concrete floor speak glowingly on your behalf.

The answer lies in the easy and practical use of either an epoxy floor finish or two concrete floor finishes. Specifically, the fashionable look and functionality of these specialty floor finishes create a positive impression for those who work or live with you.

How does an epoxy flooring system work?

An epoxy floor uses a resinous substance spread over a surface to cure or harden, leaving a flat and shiny surface that is durable and easy to clean. Read all about ‘Epoxy Cure Times’

The aesthetic beauty of epoxy attracts any range of design spunk. Further, plenty of available surface applications entail adding specific materials (like stones or rubber) into the resin to create anti-slip, even chemical resistant surfaces. Epoxy coating applications:

Read our article ‘Epoxy Flooring: 5 Things to Help You Decide’ to learn about the numerous applications of epoxy flooring systems. You can even coat your swimming pools with an epoxy surface.

See our epoxy opaque finish page:

The opaque style is the simple coating, featuring a single flat colour. This is produced by applying various sands/ metallic compounds to create specific colours under the resinous surface.

While this style is not flashy, it still features the essential protection of all epoxy flooring styles with a sheen; or optional flat sheen. A practical benefit of this style is that the flat and smooth surface is easier to clean than other surfaces. Overall, the opaque system will create a presentable, neutral, yet clean environment.

See our epoxy metallic finish page:

The metallic epoxy system features a resilient surface with a unique aesthetic. Like its namesake, the metallic floor system features the characteristic lustre of reflective metal. This is achieved by adding a ‘colour pod’ layer, which simulates metallic material.

Combined with this, flat colours can be mixed with others, allowing for particular metallic colour pod tones that are not available with the opaque style. The added metallic sheen can provide that extra impact on the mood of an environment.

See our epoxy full flake finish page:

This system features a variation of ‘chips’ with alternating colour schemes. Depending on the combination, one floor can look to have the consistency of cork, and at the same time, another one with similar colours can seem almost metallic. Overall, the aesthetic is equal to ‘popcorn’ or ‘tv static’ in nature, which can help obscure dirt and particles better than other styles. This style is commonly seen in areas that may involve maintenance or in an area that regularly gets dirty, like kitchens.

See our epoxy quartz finish page:

Like the flake system, the quartz style features granules embedded in the resin. The difference is that the material being used is tiny bits of crushed quartz rock, which adds a rough-looking texture to the surface. One of the more noticeable aesthetic benefits of quartz is its ability to reflect light like tiny diamonds. Also, the shiny gemstone pieces provide excellent tactile support by creating a rough, anti-slip surface. This is an ability not shared as much by the other styles, and this is one of the more practical choices for certain professions. Epoxy is ideal for workplaces that see heavy traffic.

We provide concrete resurfacing:

In times of ecological consideration, restoring something old has more benefits than tearing it out and adding new. In the case of concrete resurfacing, it also results in an artistic and luxurious finish.

Over time, concrete surfaces can become cracked, damaged, discoloured. Instead of destroying and rebuilding what you already have, you can quickly repair cracks and renew the surface. Much like the epoxy flooring system, the alternative option of concrete resurfacing solves this problem by applying a product that levels and restores all at once. Polished concrete resurfacing is another practical system that involves the application of epoxy resins.

How do we achieve a polished effect on an existing concrete floor?

Instead of pouring a new slab, professional concrete resurfacers spread a cement-like substance (sometimes infused with polymers) over a chosen area. The resulting layer seals cracks and levels out imperfections by adding another layer on top of an existing slab. Most mixes come in one colour (grey), but we tint mixes by adding other colour pods.

Concrete resurfacing cannot wholly restore slabs that are too severely damaged or neglected; however, concrete resurfacing can provide the upkeep for an older and beloved concrete floor.

We provide poured-in-place (PIP) rubber resurfacing.

When thinking of a floor, rubber is not the first material that comes to mind. Yet this is a versatile material with many more practical applications than those listed above despite its appearance.

Unlike concrete, rubber systems are made to be cushioning, providing safety from physical injury (falling) and preventing damage to objects (dropping a mug).

Rubber surfaces are also tactile, meaning that they are slip-resistant (even when wet), which adds to the previous safety features mentioned. The sponginess of rubber surfaces also acts as a shield; since rubber is flexible and absorbs shock, it can be more durable and less likely to crack than concrete. Aesthetically, the rubber surface can come in solid colours or fleck like the ‘flake system’ style.

What are the applications for rubber surfacing?

The rubber mixture from recycled tires, polymers, and other compounds is poured over any organic surface such as asphalt or concrete and left to harden. A rubber surface cannot be applied over another plastic or polymer.

This type of surfacing is ideal for poolsides, playgrounds, and athletic centers for its non-slip and cushioning properties.
