These belts operate like sandpaper, ranging from larger to smaller grains for different purposes. This is especially true with older concrete surfaces that are pitted, covered in grout, or have significant depressions. The CSP scale is contained between 1-10, with lower numbers indicating the most smooth surfaces, and higher numbers indicating coarse finishes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While it may seem contradictory to purposely desire an extremely coarse texture, it does have its applications. The purpose of surface preparation is to remove caked-on dirt, grease, and paint for the epoxy bonding agents to correctly and evenly bond to the surface.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the concrete is completely leveled, a surfacing agent usually made from <\/span><a href=\"\/blog\/2020\/04\/28\/setting-up-a-positive-foundation-for-your-business\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">epoxy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is applied.
